This 1979 512 BB is finished in Rosso Chiaro over Nero Daytona seats. The 512 BB is equipped with a 5.0L flat 12-cylinder engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox. With only 17,445 kilometers/10,839 miles this car is a fantastic preservation restoration. This BB was sold new at Auto Becker in Dusseldorf, Germany. It also came equipped by the factory with a Blaupunkt radio. A later restoration was performed by Bob Smith Coachworks in Gainesville, Texas. It was said that they spent over $230,000 on restoration and services. This included full bare metal repaint, engine out service, and mechanical system rebuild. All items were addressed, rebuilt, or replaced with new components. Fast forward to our current ownership here at Twin Cities Performance, we are in process of completing the engine out full service. When the engine is out, we are repairing, resealing, or replacing any components needed to keep this car running like new. A true turnkey Classiche. We are also going through the Classiche Red Book Certification process. The new owner will have the pleasure of taking delivery of this great 512 BB with the official Classiche Red Book. For those of you that aren't familiar with the Ferrari Classiche Red Book, it is a certificate of authenticity that indicates that a vehicle and all its components meet the original specifications.

At its debut at the Paris Show in 1976, the 512 BB was equipped with a 5-litre version of the 12-cylinder boxer. The new engine proved a great success, giving the same power at lower revs, better torque and a smoother delivery than the earlier version in the 365 GT4 BB. The Pininfarina coachwork differed only slightly from the previous model in certain details which not only made it look even more elegant but also helped improve engine cooling.
