The cars conception and design derived from the renowned Maranellos in-house tailor-made program where these limited-produced (approximately 40 were produced in total), very special road car models would only be made available to those drivers who competed in one of the official Ferrari-organized Motorsport programs. The Piloti was available in 1 of only 4 color variants, its exterior includes a livery resembling an Italian flag together with white racing stripes running the length of the car, in conjunction with two smaller stripes of green and red and additional Italian flag motifs lining the bottom edges, each example also features a laurel wreath marking the seasons win and finally the drivers race number whom the car was supplied to.
